If the attraction of a design lies in the "always another surprise in the next moment", then this certainly applies to the unique creations of the living legend Patricia Urquiola. Never sticking to a specific style, but always mixing and matching forms and reference elements to arouse people's longing for beauty create new definitions of living.

She has won many international awards: the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts from the Spanish government; awarded the gold medal of find arts; Silver Medal of the Order of isabella the Catholic from the Spanish royal family; named Best Designer of the Decade by the German magazines "Home" and "Hauser"; Red Dot Award and iF Design Gold Award from Germany; Designer of the Year designations by such magazines as "Wallpaper", "AD Spain", "Elle Decor International".

Δ Known as "The Tomorrow of Italian Design"

What has Patricia Urquiola created?

What do people want to touch and have?

Urquiola's open-minded life began with a passionate heart yearning for exploration. In the male-dominated world of design, Urquiola’s brilliant talent not only changed furniture design, art direction, architecture and other fields, but her talent also gradually reached a state of deep respect. With an eye for detail and a gentle touch unique to women, and always looking for a fit between retro and fashion, each of Urquiola's works cleverly combines innovative materials, bright colors, and unique shapes has contributed to another kind of design thinking.

The ultimate fusion of color and feminine charm

Genius Spanish master designer

A first glance at Patricia Urquiola's creations takes one into a world of flowers and the land of a mysterious tribe. If you watch for a little longer, your life will never be the same. Her genius and passionate, creative design have created many elegant, nimble and stunning classics for world-famous brands such as Moroso, B&B Italia, Cassina, Haworth, LOUIS VUITTON, Andreu World, and are selling worldwide.

Tribute to the classics

Still generating new value

Her appointment as the artistic director of Cassina is a story that tells a lot about her. In 2017, on the 90th anniversary of the Cassina brand, Urquiola led the creation of a commemorative book.In the innovative spirit of the times, she did not simply commemorate the works of Le Corbusier and other masters in a predictable and straightforward manner. Rather, she carefully interpreted the essence of these masters as passed down from generation to generation and gave it the digitial-era name of "Cassina 9.0". At the same time, she remodeled and expanded the Cassina Milan showroom, adding interactive multimedia and immersive experiences that enveloped visitors in a sea of virtual and physical design.

"If we don't cherish classic brands on a par with Cassina, we will lose them forever, we will lose everything, and the memories will fade away." This was Urquiola's unique way of treating the classics. It also reveals her inquisitive thinking about time, value, and even the meaning of life. Inspired by the theme of time, Urquiola designed two entrances to the exhibition: on one side, a "fast lane" with a red carpet, on the other side, a rough "cave gate". Spectators choosing the "fast lane" could savor the “victory” of saving time, but they would miss the beautiful scenery along the road. The curious souls choosing the "cave" would have unexpected encounters with over 100 designers and artists and their philosophies of time.

Embracing the future

Offices no longer are viewed as single spaces

but as wondrous landscape filled with infinite possibilities

Urquiola's passion for exhibitions has a long history.

Δ Soft and delicate materials, whether experienced in visual or tactile ways, give people a warm sense of home

In 2016, Patricia Urquiola’s design team worked with HAWORTH from the US to do away with the boring image of offices by infusing the workplace experience with the joy of life, e.g. through adding comfortable "social spaces" that combined digitalization and innovative technology. The Openest Collection of leisure furniture created comfortable spaces for teamwork and solitude, as needed, to eliminate the rigidity of work spaces and work patterns.
